🚀 Finally, I joined the 💯 Days of NoCode Challenge.
Last autumn I was panicking realizing how people are so great at building, shipping and sharing products they care about, and that they’re not afraid of showing it to the public.
Their actions were compounding through time, to let them find a profitable niche, a wider and more free space for expression, and an audience that answers back.
Slowly but steadily I understood what I was doing wrong, spending so much time reading about how grandiose were the others accomplishments, and designing small digital products for myself that never saw the light because of lack of interest, vision, and skills. Not to mention 5 hours at least to choose the color palette.
I started doing something differently, that culminated, for the moment, with my decision to take part to the challenge.
I figured out that I have the need to build, and not to miss the last mile (that is shipping) because of fears of commitment and of perfectionism.
And I understood that I cannot do it all alone. A community is what I needed, of people like me just starting out. I have to see what comes before, the incertitude, the questioning, the hard work... to realize that I am not the only one.
In the meanwhile, I started reading the blog of Alex West, from the beginning. For the same reason. Once you know you want to follow the less traveled road, you still want to have a sort of companionship. To remind you that you’re not crazy. That’s just doing what you like.
Today I followed my intuition, came back to an old Notion template of mine that I built one year ago, and prepared it for launching it. It took me about 5 hours of work to learn how to do everything, from ideation, to selling.
The hardest part was setting up Gumroad, because of so many options that I have never taken into consideration. The funniest was preparing the copy for FB (based on some successful previous launches) and designing some catchy graphics.
And now the big question: what price is a good price? How many free copies? What is the right day and hour to publish my product?
I have postponed the launch to next Tuesday around 10pm.
Not to forget, some reminders for myself:
- Offer free download for 24h
- Post the same copy on Reddit, same rules apply (create a different discount code)
- At later stages, learn how to paste a form to collect feedback.
That’s all folks.
A comment for my future self.
Things that I don’t know yet, but that I will know within this year:
- How to build a product with nocode
- How to build a membership program
- How to run a newsletter
- How to interact with customers
- How to collect feedback from customers
- How to ship a product on Product Hunt
- How to craft compelling copies for my products
- How to set up a proper price
- How to jump off the plane and build my parachute
- How to validate an idea
- How to build an audience
- How to get negative feedback
A bit messy... but hey, who's not?!
My personal space where I freely think and explore all the different interests of mine.
